Our Flowers The flowers out of Fairhaven Farm reflect the fairytale-like magic of our unruly orchard featuring twisting vines, fruiting branches, and foraged materials. Our flower keeper Marnie, finds her footing in incorporating the overlooked elements of the land.
Early flower and foliage highlights include baptisia, cosmos, snapdragons, yarrow, black-eyed-susans, solomons seal, columbine, and black raspberry sprigs and delphinium . Peak season flowers and foliage feature sunflowers, zinnias, lilies, wild raspberry, oregano, and grape vines. Fall ingredients feature dahlias, zinnias, marigolds, apple branches, heirloom chrysanthemums, grasses, and foraged autumn foliage. |

Pick-Your-Own CSA |
When does it start?
It runs the last week of June and until the first hard frost.
What's PYO flowers?
Pick-Your-Own (PYO) flowers mean you come to the farm and wander through the flower field to pick whatever fits into your 1 gallon bucket. Just bring your provided bucket, fill it with some water, grab a pair of snips and you're off to the races! By picking your own you get to experience the romance of being surrounded by magical flowers and save some money. You can fit anywhere from 20-50 stems in a bucket.
So what's the advantage of a PYO share instead of just showing up?
There are several perks, but perhaps the most important is a generous price break. By paying ahead of time you earn a total of either $50 or $120 in savings! As a CSA member you also enjoy an extended picking schedule. This includes access to the field starting the last week of June (a week earlier than the general public), and then seven days a week after that (as opposed to the new Thurs-Mon schedule). Finally, you'll receive a biweekly instructional pdf highlighting a seasonal flower, how to pick it, the vase life, and an illustration of it by a local artist.
Okay, then how does this work?
There are two share options; a half share (6 buckets) and a full share (12 buckets). The shares are designed so you can pick a bucket of flowers on your own schedule. The model is flexible so you can pick just as many buckets as you choose on whatever timeline, as long as it doesn't surpass the amount you paid for. There will be a tally sheet available at the flower shed for you to keep track of each time you pick.
2023 Season Improvements
We're proud to create an experience that works for you. In response to prompted feedback we've adjusted our share sizes, increased CSA picking hours, and devising ways offer more flower education (labeling varieties, information on harvest time, vase life etc.)
